By studying hunting chairs from the mid-20th century, designers Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl have created a modern interpretation of these remarkably low-slung seats. Its anchoring is inspired by Japanese joint making combined with Danish wooden chairs: Samurai gives thoughtful prominence to turned oak sections that support the seat's comfort and geometric plumbness, akin to the stick chairs popular in the 1950s. A specimen beautifully complemented by a chiselled round oak section, reinforcing the elegant curve of the backrest. Samurai is available in saddle leather: it folds around the chair like a suit of armor, carrying the body with ease.
