The design of the Kontrapunkt, an armchair that converts into a chaise longue, explores the possibility of creating an alternative to the standard typology of bulky lift chairs. The aim was to integrate the armchair and chaise longue into a compact, visually lightweight object. The name Kontrapunkt itself means "two opposite points", and comes from music, where it refers to the method of composing two parallel melodic lines into a harmonious whole.
